A woman in Cordova, Tenn., spent all of her savings on Powerball tickets under the assumption that she would win.
So Cinnamon Nicole created a GoFundMe campaign in an attempt to get back some of that money she wasted on the lottery.
Unfortunately for Cinnamon her GoFundMe plan ended much like her billion-dollar lottery dream.
A GoFundMe spokesperson has told CNET that her campaign was removed “for a violation of GoFundMe’s Terms & Conditions.” But what’s surprising is she actually ended up raising about $800, according to media reports, before the account was taken down. Here is what Cinnamon had posted with her GoFundMe, reported by New York news station WPIX:
Please help me and my family as we have exausted all of our funds. We spent all of our money on lottery tickets (expecting to win the 1.5 billion) and are now in dire need of cash. With your small donation of at least $1.00, a like and one share, I'm certain that we will be able to pick ourselves up from the trenches of this lost and spend another fortune trying to hit it big again! PLEASE, won't you help a family in need. DONATE NOW.
