They never thought of the consequences of what would happen. Or maybe they did and wanted chaos. And the sad part is leaking that info didn't change a thing.

Wikileaks has exposed a lot of shady and bad things.
But the difference between them and a real newspaper is that newspapers have editorial judgment.

Wikileaks thinks there's a certain tone of corruption or cronyism because newspapers could possibly shield wrong doers from justice. And possibly because they don't have the resources to run through all the information they receive/dumb. So they just publish everything without any regard to the ramifications (at least, that's how they used to operate...I'm not sure if they still do).

I think in theory Wikileaks is a good thing.
In reality, responsible investigative reporting like Pro Publica or Spotlight (yes, the movie) do better work....even if it is much slower and potentially less impactful.
