One of the biggest expenses in a wedding is the photographer.
But candidly, I almost never see any wedding pics on display in married people's homes.

Usually if they have any pics up at all, it's just one of the couple.

Seems like a lot of money to spend to show 1 pic in the house.

Hopefully, I meet a cool ass chick that is down with a court house wedding and a nice dinner at a restaurant with close family and friends.

A lot of the money spent behind weddings for one damn day is pure bullshyt to me.

even with a courthouse wedding, or in my grandparents backyard, i would still want professional pictures. the reception is what costs money

I have two or three pictures of my wedding front and center on my mantle and a separate custom wedding album given by the photographer. We had hundreds of pictures taken and spent hours picking the 150 or so for the album.

Pictures from before the limo to the end of the reception.

I have some in the house. But the real reason spent big money on video and photos was to have the day documented the way it deserves. My great grandkids will be looking at these pics one day.
Probably not.

I did wedding photography for a few years working under a friend who has his own company for that, I was a 2nd shooter then went and did a few by myself for a few years. That is the one day that can make or break you behind the lens, you have to be almost everywhere, ready to deal with any and everything that is thrown your way from weather to lighting problems to angry brides and guests. It can be very stressful and on top of that it is someone's special day and you don't get 2nd chances if you miss a shot. Fortunately I haven't had any issues at any of the weddings I shot and I have a few clients who have put my pics up in their house.

Most Weddings are expensive, you just need to decide if breaking the bank is a priority or not.
