How many TV shows are there where the 1st season was the best?

Tough because a lot of shows don't hit their strides until season 2 or 3..Damn really tough question. Ok, Spin City I feel was at its best in season 1. Cheers is another one where I feel season 1 is the best. First season of Batman animated series and 1st season of spectacular spider man

:rudy: The 1st season of "Batman: the Animated Series" has 65 episodes. The rest of the series (including "The New Batman Adventures" episodes) have no more than 12 episodes a season. That really isn't a fair comparison.

There really should be rule in this thread, that you can only list shows that ran for atleast 3 seasons. Shows that only have 2 seasons shouldn't count.

:wtf: nikka WHAT???!!!!! Smallville season 1 is nothing but Freak-of-the-weak epsiodes.

Thats why I liked it to be honest. It was much more simpler and to the point of what the show was always meant to be, even if now in modern fandom people dont like it when shows do that protagonist of the week routine (Though all shows start that way, you would think people got that)
To me it was always about Clark Kent in the Smallville years. It pretty much went longer than expected (by 5 years in fact) and so when they tried to develop the origin a little bit further it always felt a little underdeveloped and restricted cause it was never really planend.. Even when they tried to build the mythology in later seasons, the seasons had filler, too much characters, underwhelming adaptations of key villains (Darkseid and Doomsday) and still inconsistent character development. I just think the show was only suppose to be about the high school years and after they ran out of those ideas they kinda never had a firm control and plan.

It's almost unanimous with the fanbase that season one was Dexter's best season and many other fans will say that it went to the shyts right after it. I'm one of the more laid back fans that say it stayed solid till after trinity season but I do agree the first season was the shows best.
finale for the trinity season alone beat the first season.....i think ppl just luv doakes too much...if u go bak and watch it now, the first season is nowhere near the quality of show as the trinity season and lithgow was just too fukking good..i'll gladly be in the minority if its true that the fanbase thinks the 1st is the best (no one i know thinks this is the case either)

:what:

Seasons 4 and 5 were the pinnacle of that show

i enjoyed all seasons but after a while the heavy breathing jack bauer and the constant adrenaline rush overload just became old hat. like during the bush administration... after your 5th code red it kinda becomes "routine"..... :yeshrug:
