I'm in the process of looking at cars and I have been dealing with quite a few used car dealers. Mafukkas be clingy and thirsty as fukk. Which is understandable in sales, but damn made me think they ain't eating too well.
Any of you currently or previously sale cars?
Salesmen actually make more on used cars than they do on the vast majority of new cars, especially if it's not an exotic. When I sold most new cars I usually only made a few hundred at most, even if I was holding gross, because new cars have an actual valuation to the dealership [invoice price] whereas the valuation of used cars is arbitrary and subjective.
When we sold users we could net from a couple grand to a six- or eight-pounder ($6-8K in your pocket). Cats would see us lower the price several grand on a used car and not know they just got their pockets ran.
That's why I always laugh when people tell folks they should only buy used cars: not only do most folks not know what depreciation actually is, but they usually end up paying more in interest if they're not buying it cash, and they're actually letting the salesman eat if they get it off a lot.
