Industry brehs school me

How the fukk Ross grafting these labels?

I mean that's great but how?

:dahell:

Anyone can start their own independent label
To get notoriety to the public, sell records strictly independent first, get a good number in the streets. Then use that as leverage to get a distribution deal with a bigger company to sell your shyt across a region or country

It's much easier when the main artist is the one starting the label. It gets the label way more successful quicker. Fame helps alot
shyt, even Chris Brown got his own label

Quan dont care about dropping an album, hes a millionaire. He's had 3 records charted high on billboard, gets tons of radio spins and can tour internationally. What does an album do for him at this point? His mixtapes are his album's. Whats the difference between a mixtape and an album? Name one difference. His video is on TV, He's on the radio, on his 3rd hit. What will an album do?

Sales are irrelevant. nikkas only getting 360's and 50,000 - 100,000 (At best) dollar advances from labels. They budgets is barely coming in at a mil plus and if they do, they not USING THAT WHOLE MIL. What does selling an album do for a nikka like Quan or Thugga? His video is like at 50 million plus views on Youtube. He has a career on his own without needing a handout from crackers. That whole system is archaic and dying. Things have evolved passed albums.
Let me guess, you think he did all that organically and saving pennies. You cannot just get on the radio. Clout! He is suing some dude, the obvious muscle behind rhq for $2M.

Shiiit...it's a minor miracle that gunplay got an actual release date at all...rappers like him and stalley (like 5th man off the bench of a small artist ran boutique label) hardly EVER get their shyt put out...in just about any other situation but mmg, gunplay is Jae Millz, Hot Rod, spoodee (cat that just left grand hustle because he never got an album ) status

With that said. ..album was dope as fukk tho

the fact Def Jam even put his album out is a win for Gunplay.
haven't listened to it yet (or Migo's album) but people seem to be saying the album is alright, just dropped too far down the line.

doesn't matter how old the song is, he should have put this on the album;

he won't top that joint.

:whoo: That track better than anything on the album
