Just read that Modern Family will have reruns on USA and thought about the other shows that have reruns

The Big Bang Theory, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Simpsons, Cosby Show, etc

How much does an actor from that show get in syndication? It's played all over the world a bunch of times a day so curious to the amount (i.e. 10 grand each time, etc etc)

Btw, are like 90% of syndicated shows 30 mins? The only one that comes to mind thats an hour is Law and Order

They only get residuals from the first few reruns. Then it's a sliding scale negotiated between Hollywood & SAG that decreases every time an episode is played. You can view it online. So for shows like Cheers, Seinfeld, Fresh Prince, Martin, those actors are getting random checks for pennies. The only way you make money is if you were an executive producer or creator, so Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David & Will Smith are still making millions off of syndication. This was a point of contention with rest of the cast of Seinfeld when it was at its height. Kramer, George, & Elaine were not making anything off of syndication and threatened to quit the show. They resolved the conflict by giving them a piece of the DVD sales. Now a days, If the actor is important enough and has a lot of leverage, they can negotiate points in syndication but most actors back in the day were not that savvy and was just happy to work. So if anyone thinks Tommy & Pam from "Martin" or Hillary & Carlton from "Fresh Prince" can live off their syndication checks, you are mistaken. Only guy making money off of Big Bang & Simpsons are the creators. Simpson actors are getting their money in their current contracts. Cosby made sure that Claire & the kids were ok which was not normal. Ironically, commercials are more lucrative if you get one like Flo in those Progressive commercials. She's making a killing because those commercials play during every commercial break...

How about newer deals like Eveybosy Lovs Raymond, King of Queens, Friends and Law and Order, they should be caking still I'm assuming?

Raymond is good because he owns the show. Not sure if Raymond took care of the cast though. "Friends" was in the same boat as the Seinfeld cast. None of them owned the show but they made up for it with their contracts during the last few years of the show. I believe they were getting around a million an episode at the end of "Friends". I doubt any of those actors from the various L&O's had anything in their contracts that would allow them to get residuals off of reruns. They would just get replaced if they caused any trouble since L&O was a juggernaut. How many DA's and Cops were replaced on L&O? That's why Ice-T never leaving. He's making good money right now just being on the show. Jay Thomas has a radio show on SiriusXM that i listen to and he discusses this stuff all the time. Jay was on Cheers, Mork & Mindy, Murphy Brown, Mr. Holland's Opus and still does acting work. He said once while working on the that Santa Clause movie with Tim Allen who starred and owns that "Home Improvement" tv show received a syndication check for $90 MILLION dollars :damn:

#edit# based on the link in post #11 below, the Friends cast got 2% of the syndication money, so they are good. Each of them of getting $20 mil a year from syndication:mjgrin:

TYRONE GA!
I dunno.

I read an interview with Anna marie Johnson (skinny tall lightskin broad from Living Color, Heat Of The Night) where she said she took a break for a while from acting to care for her mom who was really sick. She said her Heat of the Night residual checks kept comfortable during the time she wasn't working (it was low 6 figures). So I guess it depends on your deal. :yeshrug:

Friends cast gets 20million per year as they still generate billions. They doing good.

I need to watch Seinfeld & friends. But that had that uncool 90s white people vibe. But I'm 30 and am starting to come around to Seinfeld.

I'm not sure but I think Thelma from Good Times said her mother told her to be sure she got residuals in her contract & it was the best decision she made. Maybe I'm thinking of someone's Unsung... was it someone from Different World??? Hmm i think it was one of them.
