Or you're a bare minimum mf. You do just enough to get the task complete nothing more.

Or you really dont care about the company's bottom line, as long as that check hit you can care less about profit growth.

I care because i get bonuses if I perform well
I also have accelerators where I get more $$ if I go above and beyond
This translate into potentially alot of money

So yes I do care, but as far as coming in late or early... nah bro I work from home and work for about 3-4 hours a day, sometimes 2hrs a day.

I think for people who dont have any equity in the company we care 0. Any above and beyond is done out of hope for more pay.
If you work for a start up or something and have some form of equity as part of your compensation package then I'd say you'd care a great deal more until you're ready to leave and cash out

I realized a while back that these companies don’t care about you. You are a payroll number

Extract everything you can out of your company, always have plan A, B and C. Take advantage of TA, certs, etc.

I’m blessed where I’m at but I don’t get it twisted, my contract can end any year and I’ll be assed out. I’ve put in maybe 250 apps the last two years, 7 interviews maybe and three offers. I’m make 55HR plus. If I come back stateside, I’ll be lucky to see 30HR.

This economy is wild right now.

I won't say I care,

I'm a mix of both. Volunteered to get up at 4am to drive a truck to deliver material last week. At the same time I leave at 4p.m. on the dot most days. When you show reliability you have leeway. I do work at a small company, I imagine a big company nobody really gives a damn


If I had the means though, like my own business, I'm leaving at the drop of a hat.

@2 one 3 I wish I had that mentality. I am too much of a people pleaser. Think of how Hank Hill is at his job under Bob Strickland. That is sort of how I am. I always want validation and approval from my bosses the way Hank was with Bob Strickland. I have father issues my dad was very abusive to my mother and me and my siblings growing up so I look at my boss as a father figure at times. It's not healthy to be that way though.

I love the company I work for and plan to work there until retirement if possible. I work hard for them, but I no longer do the come in early, stay late, work through lunch bullshyt.
