Probably a few grand based on the scenarios they were saying. And tbh in a situation where the electronics of a whole state shuts down like that, realistically alot of stores wouldn't even open to begin with.

Seriously everyone needs to keep several thousand in cash, have some silver or other precious metals just in case you need something to barter with, keep guns, and have food and water stored up to last you for 90 days. Nowadays they have freeze dried food that you can store that doesn't take a lot of space at all and keeps for 25 years.

I don’t understand why people keep saying gold and silver. If society ever collapsed to the point where we are literally bartering for goods and services good and silver won’t mean shyt

The most valuable commodites will be items that have utility like bullets and guns. I would take a pot that I can boil water in before a gold coin :mjlol:

They have practical uses though.

Silver can be used in water purification. Both can be used in electronics and dental work. I'm sure there are other uses as well.

Are you going to purify your own water ?

Just keep some genuine Rolexes and a few gold bars.

Cardboard has practical uses too, but you're not stockpiling it

If you really want silver for water purification purposes, buy a bottle of colloidal silver liquid at vitamin shoppe for like $15 and be good.

Agree generally that if society collapses, precious metals aren't inherently valuable. If only the dollar fails, they definitely are, but that is socioeconomic value not practical.

Realistically, society isn't going to collapse to the point people don't value gold, if it gets that bad you shouldn't even want to be near any large groups.

The bolded is my point. It doesn’t make sense when people say “the dollar is going to collapse so buy gold and silver.” If the dollar collapsed it would be mad max status in the United States. At that point gold and silver is worthless.
