selfish was coined because of this shyt :russ::russ:

Freshwater rod fishing rules

Fish size and catch limits
You’re only allowed to keep a certain amount of the fish you catch.

These fish must also be of a certain size.

You must return fish you can’t keep to the water unharmed.

Catch limits
There’s a daily limit on the number of fish you can take.

Coarse (freshwater) fish
Each day you can only take from rivers:

  • 1 pike (up to 65cm)
  • 2 grayling (30cm to 38cm)
  • 15 small fish (up to 20cm) including barbel, chub, common bream, common carp, crucian carp, dace, perch, rudd, silver bream, roach, smelt and tench

they put out limits on the free waters :wow:

this is for the UK though, i doubt you could tell someone in Nebraska or Minnesota what they can or cant do in the waters.

Can't tell you thats a local thing based on where you at.

The rules are not general for everywhere.

thats what i was assuming.

over here i dropped the rules its very tight but makes you wonder when and why did all this free trade and free waters thing came to a stop.

i know its because of industry somewhat but its pretty interesting.

DEPENDS ON THE YEAR AND LOCALE. IT CAN CHANGE BY THE YEAR TO PROTECT ECOSYSTEMS. (SUPPOSEDLY)

ok i see so not much laws and regulating so its literaly open waters unless you are trying to profit from it. which is where the term "selfish/ sell - fish" originally began. it seems harsh.

It does protect the eco system. If you let people take fish before mating season or mating age it fukks everyone down the line. Why they give fines over it.

new knowledge. always assumed its to stop free enterprise over waters.

Damn, if you gotta ask this question you must be catching fish like weight. YAYEE YEH

:russ: but no i have never been fishing, but if i could legit get hold of like 4 boxes of fresh fish i would know how to move them.

If you don't limit #s you can wipe out populations locally which can have major repurcussions for other animals as well. Bears for instance rely on healthy salmon populations so that they can make it thru hibernation. Crazy part is that bears don't even eat the entire fish, usually just the skin/head. The rest is usually then scavenged by other animals. That's a lot of animals that rely on one fish. Then you have to think about how overfishing affects populations of animals typically eaten by certain species. Delicate balance breh.

i was well off i was thinking of the commerce value but this is so on point. it has nothing to do with fish sales, it could mess up the earth :russ:

this zoologist sir david attenborough said "humans are the only species on the planet you could get rid of and the world will still continue as normal" nothing else is expendable.
