Wiggins has as quick a first step as Kobe. We just haven't seen it as much because his handle has been developing. Kobe came into the league with a dope handle. Wiggins has been working on his. This is the first year I can say his handle is good. It probably won't be on Kobe's level of elite until next year. Then you'll see Wiggins exploit that quick first step even more.
In terms of body coordination he might never reach Kobe. But that's okay. His body control is improving and should be more than adequate very soon.
Now there are some advantages Wiggins has on Kobe. He's obviously taller and longer. I think he has more bounce than Kobe. He's also got better shooting mechanics IMO and has the potential to develop into a better outside shooter. Kobe never shot close to 40% from 3. I think Wiggins has that potential.
I know. However Wolves look like the team of the future with Towns and Wiggins already there.
They could be a new age Kobe/Pau combo.
