It's the American criminal justice system. Who the fukk knows. If he has money and a good lawyer he might get off with probation or the best for him deportation straight up. fukk this country

His biggest problem is he can get deported. You said he only been here 6 years so I doubt he came here to escape a civil war. Alot of Africans who came here in the 90s to escape civil wars got permanent resident cards so they usually don't get deported but the newer ones who fukk up are sent back with quickness. He needs a really good lawyer and a lot of ass kissing. Normally I'm against plea deals and talking to the police but when deportation is on the table he need to tell his lawyers he will plead guilty in exchange for deportation being off the table. He might do a year of two and be out with good behavior but he can never fukk up again or his ass is gone.

If it's his first time getting locked up for drugs then he should be straight, unless he got caught with a serious amount of work. He'll probably get PTI and have to do 6 months to a maybe a few years on un supervised probation, go to some classes and do x amount of hours of community service. I don't know anyone who has gotten sent down the road on they first time getting hemmed up for work. Now if he moving serious numbers then that's another story. If he is in Cobb County GA that's a different story too. They always overcharge the fukk out your ass to avoid going to trial to try to make you take that plea. Him not being a citizen may get INS involved. That depends on what jurisdiction he in and how "on it" they are with the paperwork. A lot of them folks working in the system are lazy and they not taking the time to bind that shyt over to another agency or jurisdiction
