How soon is too soon to buy your girl/wifey a ring?

If I was married I would tell her no go. She would either be a good wife and submit to her husband or rebel and leave. I would make sure my offspring is well informed that she broke their family up so no unfair blame is put on me.

For me ultimately it would have to do with the amount of money that is being offered at the new locale for both of us.
