Those freight trains that are carrying garbage, liquid toxic waste, oil and shipping containers can have 100 “cars” easily and move way slower than that train.

Freight is a big reason why we don’t have higher speed passenger trains because the tracks are owned by freight companies and they prioritize their shyt over passenger rail. Way more $ to be made with a 100 car freight train that is hauling millions in goods than a 10 car train full of people
