the GOP is the party of white racists... they didnt surrender to anything it was always what it has been... whether it was racist blatant hate speech or coded hate speech or rhetoric... this is what it always was the party for white people masquerading as christian family values... I blame most of it on FOX News and the right wing media bubble (Limbaugh, Hannity, Tucker Carlson, etc.). They were always bad but after Obama got elected they went crazy.
