I was looking for an ipad for my niece, those shyts start out expensive. iPhones going for $1K, iPad Air starting at $600, iPad Pro with a good setup is $1.5-2K, I make a good salary and I'm looking at these prices like :damn:

They gave me this little bitty raise at work I can't even be happy when I see how much prices have gone up on everything. I bought a 2010 R1 for $10K new, the new 2020s will cost you probably 2X that out the door :scust:

I see these dudes on TV who just snap and start spraying, I think I understand :wow:

Most firmly middle class folks I know are running on that debt treadmill. Paying off debt with debt and that debt with other debt. Kids don't know the value of money but do know their friends got the new thing, so they gotta have it, and the parents don't want their kids getting left out either, so they get it. Parents doing the same in their own circles. Debt is cheap as fukk at the moment, but man, it ain't always gonna be like that. It's a mess.

Actually inflation helps with debt. When the wages have to go up, your debt stays at the same level it was and it's easier to pay off. That's why a lot of people buy homes in anticipation of inflation.

My point was that this lifestyle ain't sustainable in the sense that you're not always going to be able to get debt this cheaply. It's going to be an ugly wake-up call when you can't find credit to buy the new X like you used to.
