Does everybody just talk to people they meet in highschool or childhood? I don't know how adults make friends, it's so difficult. I plan on moving soon and I have to start all over. How does a adult make friends? Help me out

At work is the easiest. You can also make friends through dating. Rarely, at the bar you can also meet people. Met some people at the gym, but honesty don’t keep in touch with anyone anymore at all.
Good/useful friends are much, much harder to find and that’s why childhood or University friends seem safer.

Have common interests, REALLY put yourself out there ask people if you can hang later after work, grow charisma, yes it can be learned to a degree. You have different people in your life at different times for a reason.

Gym, social activities such as taking cooking classes, para sailing, rock climbing, reading, etc...
I didn't make friends at the workplace because I had no intention on developing personal relationships at work. In fact, I'd advise against it.
Figure out what you like to do, and find others that like to do the same stuff. You'd be surprised how many adults are looking for people to hangout with that have similar interests.
