How to build my credit?

Im saying what part of the game is that? I have a student account with bank of america and never had to pay them shyt. In fact they pay me money for having money in my savings.

If you need a bank I recommend Bank of America. I had an incident when Amazon took money out of my account (I signed up for a free 30day trial of prime and never used it). The shyt ended up overdrafting my account, I didnt have to call or nothing. Went online talked to a rep online, got everything refunded within a couple days. Not saying other banks don't do this but I have had no issues with BoA. Also I haven't seen any bank with more ATMs and locations than BoA

Actually now that I think about it Chase is garbage. I have a friend who had a Chase account. Some person in Chicago randomly got a hold of his account info and bought all types of shyt ($200 worth) on his account. He disputed it, and initially they believed him, then after a while they brought the charges back. He just said fukk it and switched to Capital One.

You can get a cc from chase your debit card wont do anything for you. The interest rate is pretty high like 13% if you have good credit(that's typical for a cc though, hell I have a cc with a 20k limit and even that is 13%) if you don't have good credit it's higher, just pay on time and your credit will go up. What you need is a car loan/home loan to really build credit though and assets.

Yup thats a good method. Another trick you can try is if you're out with friends and they're gonna pay cash for something, take their cash and just put it on your card. Make sure to put their cash in your bank right away so you don't spend it. Now your monthly spending has increased with no out of pocket money for yourself and you can follow cashinout's method from here.

I guess i should add that i have no debt nor took out any school loans. Ive been getting by with scholarships
+ financial aid. But i am in my own house now where im paying the electricity,gas, cable etc bills. And I read on one of the bills about establishing credit which sparked this thread.

See i lived in the fukk credit life for a while now, but its seems almost necessary from home and car buying. Of course you can pay in full but how realistic is that?

In addition to alot of the stuff people said already... if you have a parent that you trust financially, ask then to add you to their credit account. They'll essentially be building your credit for you and it will positively affect your average credit history out the gate(which is a factor in your credit scoring).

Do this ONLY IF YOU TRUST THEM FINANCIALLY. If they pay their bills late or their utilization is all messed up (i.e. their limit is $5000 and they've spent $4500 of it), they'll be messing your credit up.

That's how my mom got me started. She added me to her account when I was a Freshman in college and let me use the card for gas.
