How to deal with parents asking for money?

Consistently asking for like 700-1000 a month

just moved out a little over month ago and this would significantly hinder my financial goals

but I don’t wanna be ungrateful and just leave them to pay for everything since for the past year before I moved out I was giving them 1k a month for any house hold expenses

Sad, my parent's use to be broke. Mom was horrible with finances, dad was in streets hustling and gambling thru out my teens and 20s.

We damn near had an intervention with my mom about spending and we stopped giving her money. Dad grew out of the streets and got a good job at this huge White catholic church. Yall have no clue how much money White churches have. Fast forward 10+ years. House and 3 Suvs paid for, no debt that I know of. Thank God. Life is tough enough individually, parents are suppose to be help the kids,

Black families expand too much money and resources on the bad decision makers in the family, instead of pushing the good decision makers further.

Imagine having a 20-30 year head start in life on a child you created and you're asking them for money like they did to you when they were little.

Id help some but not gon lie I'd be looking at my parent funny.

They’re asking for it to cover household stuff like food, mortgage, and upkeep. There financial situation is not great tbh. Household income not including me is like 35-40k I estimate
