Was going to put this in the locker room but forgot about this part of the site so maybe I can get some real answers here.

Right now im in a position where I got promoted to a different (higher) title. Its already in affect but they still have not discuss my pay with me even tho I keep asking. They keep telling me "oh you'll get a raise but its in discussion for the amount, we'll get back with you"

Now I can be real and just immediately step back down if they dont come through...but if they do how do you ask for a specific amount without seeming like a douche?

How do you ask/discuss your raises?

To be honest the raise thing should've been discussed and negotiated when they gave you the new position. But I would try talking to HR or whoever is in charge of Payroll and ask what the budget is for your position. If that doesn't work, contact the initial person you mentioned the raise to. Tell him it's important that you get this information as you are about to have some new expenses and you need to prepare accordingly.

It kinda was and kinda wasnt. What happen was I had the first interview. Told them I wanted it for higher pay for expenses. They saw no problem with that, after it was over I was told they would call me back cause they had others to interview.

So at this point im under the impression im not going to get the spot or they will call me back for the 2nd/final interview to wrap things up (which is when I was gonna discuss pay specifically)

That doesnt happen. I get told few days later by someone else in charge I was accepted so I immediately go and ask all managers about my pay. I didnt want to bring up a specific amount during the first cause I didnt want to seem demanding.

I talked to an admin(in charge of payroll) and they said that I need to get them to put it in writing. Pretty fukked up imo.
