I think the rationale of a mother being more unconditionally loving/responsible/nurturing for a child than a father by virtue of gender is an extremely archaic and misguided concept as far as Western society goes.

Due to the prison industrial complex/institutional racism toward black men in the workplace, we're already seeing this thought experiment pan out in the black community in America... badly.

Matters like this should be perceived through a lens of works and character and less so gender if both parties want to be involved in the child's life.
