How under counted are African Americans in the U.S.? (Census 2020)

They've been throwing around the 40 million black people number since the 60s.

So I believe under counting is going on.

Even in place like LA, I "felt" like there were more black people than the percentages would like you to believe.

I have read government documents (like the Moynihan Report), news media published by African American media outlets like Jet and Ebony. The 40 million number only began to be discussed in the late 2000s/2010s.

Yep. I used to drive a big truck and saw most of this country (the lower 48 anyway) up close. There are VAST areas where black people are RARE. Hell, the entire US west of the Mississippi is devoid of blacks outside the major cities, and even then, not a majority in any of those cities, and very thin in most of the suburbs.

IMO only huge flaw off the top, that the census messes up is regarding Latinos(them marking white and all making some places seem majorly white, but really its latin)

but besides that yeah its relatively accurate.

especially here in the west, whether you in Cali, AZ, NV, WAS, etc no way will you think "theres way more of us" because most of the region is just hoards of Whites or Mexicans

and they talk about how white middle America is, but most of those towns have a few hundred ppl if that, and there is a lot of empty space.

I think its relatively accurate. Black people live in different "pockets." People underestimate how white america really is until you start moving around. Also, the black population in america is systematically kept low.

This is what I don't get about people who think there's so many millions more black people hiding somewhere. Where are they?? There are hundreds of towns with a population between 50k-100k. Few of them are predominately or even substantially black. It's like people think those flyover regions are empty. America is white or latino as hell.
