It seems that the rep refractory period was temporariliy put on hold for a special event earlier and he may have used this opportunity to unleash his frustration on you.

and since everyone is amusing themselves here are some bullshyt suggestions about daps/reps
full

  • the cost of starting a thread would be 25 rep (need to "buy" a thread)
  • the cost of responding within 5 minutes would be 15 daps
  • cost of replying from 6-15 minutes would be 10 daps
  • cost of replying from 16-30 minutes would be 5 daps
  • after that, cost of replying would be free
  • cost of exceeding 24 posts/24 hours would be -1 rep for each additional post
  • a demurrage would be charged on all reputations
  • a daily cron job update everyone's rep as:
    newrep = oldrep*e^(-0.0002*p)
    where p = posts made that day
    take colicat as an example-
    p= 15/day, rep = 930, her rep would decay each day by about 3 points due to demurrage
  • note that people who took the day off (=0 posts) would avoid demurrage
  • now as for replies, the average TLR thread length is about 19 + OP = 20 posts
  • i have equations where daps received on replies 21-49, 50-99, 100-199, 200+ etc. would be bonused via a bessel function :skip:
