shameful plug? maybe, but this is something else I started and planned to stick with. We also will have production from the great @TEKBEATZ in the next couple videos. ( Let me know if you hate it,like it, or love it)

How y'all get into hip-hop? did y'all sneak trying to listening to it knowing if you got caught that ass was gonna get beat?

My introduction was word of mouth....Early 80's was heavy on hearing a persons name before hearing the music or what they even looked like. First it was Beat Street by word of mouth, then it was the whole year of 85 with songs like The Pee Wee Herman and The FatBoys. Doug E Fresh had the Inspector Gadget song that we all know as The Show. And everyone was talking about some guy named LL Cool J. But POP , R&B and Rock were bigger and I was already wrapped up in that word so me actually getting into didnt happen till DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince came out with Nightmare On My Street because it had more appeal to a kid then that hard stuff like Eric B and Rakim and Run DMC.

Damn, you grew up with hip-hop my boy. I don't think a lot of people give enough respect to will smith and dj jazzy jeff for what they did for hip-hop.

My introduction was when I was 5 years old and watching alot of tv. Wasn't supposed to be watching videos but would sneak to BET & MTV when my parents left the room. Saw videos like Crossroads, California Love, etc.

Started spending Summer's at my grandma's crib when I was 7. This was around the time No Limit was taking over and my uncle had all the cassettes they was putting out. He was also a huge Pac fan. I remember hearing Hail Mary for the first time ridin with him feelin like :obama: "this is tight. I think I like this rap stuff."

Biggie "Mo Money Mo Problems", that was my first favorite hip-hop track because when it dropped it was undeniable, anybody around that time will tell you that. To this day that's probably my favorite track of all time. I was born in '90 and my mom was real strict on listening to rap at that point because she didn't like the messages, the only rap she listened to was old 80's and 70's shyt. After that, I pretty much fell in love with the genre :wow:

Honestly it was my friend showing me the music video for The Real Slim Shady back when we were five on yahoo music lol. I remember knowing it sounded completely different from anything I heard and it was intriguing but I was musically stupid for most of my childhood and never bothered to go in depth to music.

But one of my favorite bands growing up was Gorillaz and I loved the verses on their first two albums. Del's verse on Clint Eastwood was definitely the first verse I ever memorized. It didn't take until high school though when I decided to take the genre seriously and the first albums I put in my rotation were pauls boutique, ironman, and life after death. I really fell in love with it from there.
