How Would The USA Operate If We Went Into Full War Mode?

Would the government go a full-press propaganda mode like they did in the 40s? Would there even be a need for rationing and war bonds? Why type of restrictions would they put on civilians? Obviously no one really knows, but I'm sure yall got some wise speculations and sound statements on this topic.
