Superstar athletes — they’re just like us! Or maybe they’re a little different, because I can’t think of anyone else who takes a smiling picture of themselves before jury duty and sends it out to 10 million people, like LeBron James did on Thursday.
LeBron is spending the offseason in his hometown and was
spotted at the Akron courthouse Thursday morning, reporting for his civic duty.
He was well prepared too, with a book to read and a smile that will quickly fade as he sits in a waiting room watching a video produced in 1989 about jury expectations. Also, I don’t think a judge is going to let that hat appear in a court room.
The major downside for LeBron: Summit County stopped paying jurors in 2009. That should put a considerable dent on his ranking in the next Forbes list.
