So basically 2 good clean hearted brothers who helped me through school are looking for jobs. Both guys fukked with me heavy while I wasn't even going to class and no doubt I wouldn't have done so well without them.

I shot them both 1500 word emails with all the info they would need, contact numbers, companies etc.

A job has come up from one of the recruiters whos details were included in the email.

I feel a way about telling them personally since the details are one of two already in the email and I feel if they were doing the leg work they'd stumble on it anyway.

So do I....

A: Hit them up explaining the full situation, telling them to call the recruiter

or

B: Let it cook, drop a subliminal and keep it moving

?

A wise man told me the game is to be sold and not told. I shouldn't feel a way about helping them but I do just because you gotta open your own doors in life and sometimes I feel like helping people too much brings bad fortune. :manny:

I would explain the full situation, but just one time.

Sometimes people don't understand that ...yes, while having a connection to someone CAN help you get a job...there has to be a certain level of hunger in you to go out and get what you want.

I had a friend who was trying to get a job working with cars. I put him on to an old HS buddy who works at the Mercedes dealership in Manhattan. Told my HS buddy the situation and to expect a call. The friend called 1 time. My HS buddy didn't pick up because he was busy, I guess. But the dude never made a 2nd call.

I'm like, alright...so I went out of my way to reach out to a friend I barely even talk to...and you can't make a follow-up phone call to at least get an interview?

:camby:

Unfortunately a lot of people think their friends can get them jobs. When in reality, the only thing you can do is point people in a direction and say "Go get it".

Guide them but tell them that if they dont make a serious effort themselves there isnt much you can do

Yeah I just hit them both with the blueprint.

I aint even a street cat but that's where I'm coming from and where my mind is it. This helping others to be successful thing is new to me, but as I creep closer to success and catching up with my dreams I feel more compelled to support others in the pursuit of their dreams.

Deep down I've always known successful people help others, those who are not successful or where they wanna be in life find joy in the failure of others.

On the flip side though, everyone wanna see you do well but just not better than them :leostare:

I'd rather help strangers than people I know. That way the next time that MF is in trouble, they have no idea how to get in contact with me.

In terms of people I know, I only help those I see helping themselves and RARELY do I give money.
