How ya'll feel about Web Development?

Like has any of you tried your hand at designing your own website or a website for others? I know a while back the average salary for web design was 60k a year but I'm not sure how it's looking now. Been thinking of moving over to web design after being in desktop support for a couple years now.

I guess what I'm asking is in this social media age we're in, do you feel there's profit to be had by becoming a web designer and or jump starting your own website?

I like web development a lot. I'm the sole web developer at my agency. The key is to stay on top of the web technologies because they evolve so fast. What might be the web/coding standards today may become obsolete next year. There's definitely profit to be made in becoming a web developer/designer, especially if you have the degree for it.

That's true about staying in top of it, technology is ever changing so I fall ya about staying on top of it

General Assembly is one, Hack Reactor is another that teaches coding and apparently has really good ratings
