this is one of the reasons why I tread lightly on the black academic crust of our community

Not surprising honestly.

Black scholars usually have to work harder and be significantly better than White scholars.

Black people period have to work significantly harder to achieve the same thing as Whites of a similar echelon.

In most cases you take a Black person at the top of their game and a White person at the top of their game and the Black person is typically going to wipe the floor with them due to Black folks traditionally having to overcome so much more adversity. In a way the adversity prepares of us for what is to comes and helps us be much better.

Why do people think that ivy league school automatically means that someone going there is intelligent, brilliant, special or whatever though? Very true.... Ivies are about social capital.... that's where the real value is.......... if you get in, those schools will make sure the dumbest of the student body passes just to ensure the school's reputation
