Why would any of us want to extend an already 15 year war? That has no end in sight and has really done nothing to decrease the reason for terrorism. With this idea, he doesn't just extend it. He ramps it up 2 more levels.
Trump is really playing all the tropes hoping something will be considered "bigly". Aside from an economic crash and putting the US in real economic turmoil in the coming 25 years, he really hasn't done anything positively significant for the country as a whole nor the US' allies. This unfortunately is a failed Presidency that has shown all the reasons why Republican ideas are not only outdated but mostly wrong.
