was just randomly watching this match. it made me miss matches like this. no "great" moves, just ring psychology, working the crowd, and 2 big motherfukkers throwing blows
WWE had an embarrassment of talent during this time period.Blowing this match for free on Smackdown was incredibly stupid

You get Hulk Hogan to do a job for you WHENEVER you get the chance. Hogan and The Rock were gonna be gone for months, and with Hogan you cannot be sure if he's even coming back, and if he is, if he's putting someone over, or if he'll just pull what he did with HBK at Summerslam. In the case of Hogan, you use him for what you can when you have him, you cannot trust him with any sort of long term plan. Remember, this run of his ended with him quitting in the middle of the Mr. America run.Hoegan losing CLEAN isn't some bullshyt you just get over with with no buildup![]()
Ain't that why Austin walked out?Hoegan losing CLEAN isn't some bullshyt you just get over with with no buildup![]()
No Hogan was supposed to lose here, go away for months, and then vignettes showing him training to take on Lesnar were supposed to start leading to match at Summerslam or Royal Rumble.Blowing this match for free on Smackdown was incredibly stupid

Hogan learned he was going to lose again, and he scrapped the whole angle.
