It's why most religions encourage you to restrict the amount of food that you eat. If you don't control the desire of the stomach, it leads to other desires. It doesn't mean that you should starve yourself or not go all out every once in a while, just do not exceed the limits. Every once in a while, try to fast and build up your self discipline.
Ironically, by restricting your intake of food, you begin to have a greater appreciation for it and it becomes more enjoyable. Scarcity makes you appreciate what you have.
Even in modern psychology, the problem of hedonic adaptation is recognized. As soon as you've satisfied one pleasure, you immediately adapt to it, stop appreciating it and you begin to crave a new source of stimulation. It never stops.
