It wasn’t the hurricane, Mississippi took da brunt of that. In NO, all went awry when those levees broke. Army Corps of Engineers did nothing to maintain fortifying the levees over da years and the government didn’t take heed to warnings of what could come in da previous year, monies for that infrastructure went elsewhere, inaction on behalf of da then governor, displaced families in da aftermath too & a myriad of fukkery due to all of da aforementioned. As @newarkhiphop said, nobody is coming to save you & during crisis (especially under this administration), you’re on your own. It was absolutely all rooted in race.
