But it's not.

He's still not happy. The reason for it is because at the heart of it, he does not like the fact that he chose a single mother. He's raising another man's child with a woman that man could not get along with, and it's burning his soul. He thinks he settled for scraps and is trying to re-arrange those scraps so they look like a five star meal, but it's not going to happen. No matter how nice she is to him, no matter how well she dresses, no matter what she does he's still not going to be able to escape the fact that he feels he chose wrong and can do better.
