I always laugh when I hear people mistake Aesop Rock for ASAP Rocky and vice versa

I understand why cause Aesop hasn't put out anything for a long time and even when he was somewhat popular, he was still pretty underground, not those many people listened to his music. And he was popular in like 03 or so, so a lot of the younger dudes wouldn't know about him.

Why would ASAP Rocky choose that name tho? Did he do it on purpose knowing there was someone out there with such a similar name already?
