I always thought Nas' "I Can" was under appreciated

It is a mystery

id say no. "I can" is the only song the mainstream music listener knows from nas and is his "99 problems" or "hard knock life" basically

It was a terrible song. The beat was boring, the lyrics were forced, and Nas cursing in the song prevented schools from being able to play it in elementary school assemblies so the song was a fail on my opinion...even though it used to play every other hour on the radio when it released

The last song on Common's "Be" is everything "I Can" tried to be, but executed it way better....which is weird because Nas is ten times the rapper Common is

That Dilla effect

Im a nas fan and im glad that he does take time to instill wisdom in his lyrics to feed the youth:feedme:

His catalog in its entirety is underappreciated :snoop:

I love both tracks, but I Can and It's Your World are two very different tracks...

Not really. Both tracks about inspiration and becoming whatever you want to be. Nas' song was a cheap cookie cutter attempt. Common's felt more organic and warm
