What is Lindsay Graham's favorability raring?

Answer:
Lindsey Graham's favorability, as measured by recent polling, is relatively low compared to other South Carolina Republican politicians. According to a May 2025 Winthrop University poll, Graham's approval rating stands at 34%. In the same poll, 40% disapproved of his performance, while 25% were unsure.
Another metric from YouGov, reflecting national sentiment, indicates that 26% of respondents have a positive opinion of Lindsey Graham, 37% are neutral, and 18% dislike him, with 81% of those surveyed recognizing his name.

Then why does he keep getting re-elected?

Answer:
Lindsey Graham continues to win re-election in South Carolina due to several key factors:

1. Strong Republican Base in South Carolina

South Carolina is a reliably Republican state, especially in national and statewide races. The GOP consistently outperforms Democrats, giving any Republican nominee a significant advantage regardless of individual approval numbers.winthrop+1

2. Incumbency Advantage

As a long-serving senator, Graham benefits from incumbency, which offers increased name recognition, established campaign networks, and easier fundraising. These advantages can help offset dips in popularity or temporary unpopularity.newsweek

3. Weak Democratic Opposition

Democratic challengers in his recent races have struggled to gain enough statewide traction to pose serious threats, either due to limited fundraising, lack of statewide name recognition, or the overall partisan lean of the electorate.independent

4. Party Loyalty and Political Environment

Even when his favorability dips among some voters, party loyalty often outweighs dissatisfaction. Many Republican voters who are lukewarm about Graham still vote for him over a Democrat, especially in a polarized political environment.knewz+2

5. National Profile and Media Exposure

Graham has a high national profile due to his frequent media appearances and involvement in national issues, which helps solidify his standing among conservative voters and activists, particularly during primary challenges.today.yougov+2

6. Lack of Strong Primary Challengers

Despite some Republican discontent, Graham has not faced a successful primary challenger who could rally enough support to unseat him within the party.knewz
Overall, a combination of party dominance in South Carolina, incumbency, entrenched networks, and party-line voting allows Lindsey Graham to maintain his Senate seat despite personal favorability numbers that might otherwise seem vulnerable.

Isn't that a pretty good and very interesting list of what's wrong with voters?

Nah man none of that is anything that folks tapped into politics wouldn't consider general knowledge at this point. We know that SC is full of whites who vote blindly republican everytime and name recognition combined with lack of challengers it makes sense he still there
Facts.

Distinguished Gentleman is a great movie for those who have no knowledge of politics. It shows how silly us voters really are.
:francis:
Probably 90% of votes don’t know who represents them in their state assembly.
:francis:
We too busy paying bills and shyt to truly care about who “represents” us. Politics unfortunately are rich people getting richer, while selling themselves to the highest bidder. Sometimes the people benefit.

Fam I'm dealing with that right now with this woman I'm dating. She's apolitical and doesn't keep up with the news and just focuses on paying her bills and going to work. Which is understandable in that being too deep on the news cycle tends to make people much more cynical and negative but gotta still read up from time to time to stay up to date and also vote for issues you care about. There's a lot of folks like this now. It's unfortunate

This is no offense to anyone.
But I never had an enjoyful political conversation with a female
It's almost always stupid
Either she will say things just to agree with someone she thinks sounds smart, or she will focus on dumb shyt, or won't know anything.
Other times she will just be very angry, and it's almost like anger is her political position.

I honestly prefer the don't know anything, because that woman is the most honest politically.

Tons of old white people in SC. They are the ones that vote the most. There aint a old ass white Tariq running interference, they vote hell or high water. SC has a sizable black population but not enough to overcome the demographics of voters there. They need a strong organizer to come to the state and galvanize its base. Its a uphill battle because there is no huge metro city like Charlotte, Atlanta, Houston, etc etc that might have a big enclave of democratic white voters. If you white in SC you are conservative. PERIOD and they can have the corpse of Jeffery Epstein running in general elections as long as he has that "R" besides his name, they voting for him

This is what I got out of it

2) Incumbency goes too much of a long way in politics, it should not hold that much power and that's stupid.
3) Weak Democratic Opposition. They need to do something about this, more help with funding, other democrats should take a stronger stance and do rallies with a democratic contender and that person should do podcast tours. If many famous democrats go on a state tour big podcasts will pick that up.
Bill Maher invited Mamdani for example, though he declined.
4) Party loyalty, this is also just stupid. This is obviously a huge issue.
5) National profile. It shouldn't be like this, american elections should not be a popularity contest.
6) Democrats never chose a winner.

I think these are all valid points with what's wrong.

Sadly this.

We literally kept the corpse of Strom Thurmond running for 20 more years than he should have.

It's going to take the state becoming more purple in order to even have a chance, but unlike Georgia with Metro Atlanta or North Carolina with Metro Charlotte and the Research Triangle area, that doesn't exist in SC.

If you truly folllow news and politics, it’s depressing. These last 6 months has been crazy. Buddy is doing things that a Democratic president would get slaughtered for doing.
:francis:
Whatever side you are on really doesn’t matter. He has his finger in black people’s eye and the checks that are supposed to keep him in line aren’t being used.
:what:
We are in strange and peculiar times right now. All while the other side is losing confidence in its own leadership. One would believe 2026 will be a blue wave, but the way shyt is going now…

I wouldn’t put it past republicans to hold power… one way or another.
:aicmon:
That party is truly a party of thugs and democrats allow it.

I remember I was in NC a few years ago
I was at a baseball game, I think it was at the Durham athletic baseball field
I was in one of those booths and it had a cafeteria type place
I went to go get food and then sat down and started eating

Then the national anthem came up
everyone, ALL OF THEM, they all got up and put their hand to heart during the anthem.

Me I just kept eating and kept staying sat down.
Everyone was white, I was the only brown guy in sight LOL, I was sitting with a black guy.
Both of us just sat down and ate
We got mad stares, angry stares, violent stares, all types of stares
I just thought afterwards man that's way too much nationalism

And that nationalism is so futile
What's the point of nationalism when nationalists are the first to put partisanship over oath of office?

Dap + rep for Distinguished Gentleman. It got panned when it came out, but it’s criminally underrated and quite relevant to the current political climate.
