So i've been using some old 2.1 Logitech system but it broke and i bought the Mackie CR4 today. They are not really high-end but since im probably not gonna be mixing or anything im cool. The thing is i was used to my old system and now i feel it lack that extra bass. :sadcam:
I'm thinking about buying a dual jack port and plug only the sub with the monitors. Is it a good idea? What yall recommend? Thanks.

Get you some isolators and put them under the monitors, the bass boost will be massive and put some acoustic foam on the walls to even it all out. Monitors are not meant to be bass heavy or high heavy, they are meant to be accurate. And you always can get you a subwoofer if you want more bass

I got acoustic foam all in my bedroom :yeshrug: it actually looks nice with different patterns and colors. But just get a subwoofer if you want bass or you can buy some better monitors. Jbl 305s are arguably the best/cheapest 5 inch monitors on the market. I got some and my neighbors fukking hate me :lolbron:

What size are the woofers...Mackie monitors aren't designed to be boomy. They made to give the flatest response so you can accurately make a mix.

However, there may be a second volume knob on the back of the monitor that allows you to adjust bass.

Yo gay-azz Logitech system is laughing at you.
The sub is receiving low end frequencies in that 2.1 set up. Your 2.0 monitor set-up has nothing to replicate the bass frequencies.

Add a crossover to receive the audio signal and use that to control the signal (i.e. EQ levels) going to a powered subwoofer.
