I remember reading an article on this and it said Philly wanted him and he dropped 42 on Stackhouse during a Sixers practice. I know I read an article like that.

I didn't read the aritcle. I was in Nigeria the summer of '96 so information was limited. I know that before I left, he wasn't considered for No 1 or top 5. I can see a few people in the organization wanting to market the hometown kid though.

I know about Kobe doing well against Stack but I think the Sixers were going with AI the whole time.
Jerry West said he stole Kobe at #13 and thought he was should've gone 1 easily.
The only team he didn't work out for was the Nets. He had workouts with the Sixers and Celtics. That whole "demanding to go to the Lakers" thing was blown out of proportion and really wasn't true.
