I can't understand why every team in the NFL is not trying to interview David Shaw

All these coaches getting fired and I'm reading about these same bums getting recycled for interviews like a damn game of musical chairs.

Pat Schurmur

Doug Pederson

Doug Marrone

Adam Gase

:dahell:

I understand there are some :mjpls: forces at work here, but I've also read about Duce Staley, Teryl Austin getting interviews and possible interest in Kevin Sumlin.

It boggles my mind that every damn team with a coachingg vacancy in the NFL is not bringing in Shaw. Bro far and away a top 10 coach at ANY LEVEL OF FOOTBALL right now.

Jerry please fire the ginger and hire this man :mjcry:

from everything it seems he's genuinely happy at Stanford. His wife and kids love it there. Besides why hurry to get to the NFL so he can be fired if he doesn't win a ship in his 1st 3 years or a ship every 5?

I'm sure David Shaw is happy where he is.

It's 2016, y'all need to learn/accept these college jobs are just as good as NFL jobs. It's not the 90's anymore where the Jimmy Johnsons & others are expected to go to "the big time" after being successful in college. College football is also considered the "the big time" now. These guys are making as much if not more money than NFL coaches and can build their teams/programs the way they see fit. They are the GM.

Why go to the NFL where you give up almost all of your power and are on a shorter leash?

Every coach "plans to" stay where they are at until someone comes knocking with a great opportunity/money.

not true, Mora Jr. is trying to weasel his way out of UCLA as we speak. he seems to like it there, and is young enough that there will be plenty of time to get a job whenever he wants

He played football at Stanford. His dad was a coach there. I'm sure growing up it was one of his dreams to coach there. He's also been an assistant coach in the NFL. He probably saw what it took to be a NFL head coach and said no thanks. He's got a good thing going in Stanford. Why ruin it?

His salary is $3,000,000 a year and will probably be increased the way he's built that team up. There are currently 11 head coaches in the NFL only making between $3,500,000-$4,000,000 a year. The salary increase isn't huge.
