Kids from the hood get influenced by rap at and earlier age then kids in the suburbs.. But they are all influenced nonetheless

There's some truth to this.

I would also add that the fact that the kids actually live in the hoods that these rappers rap about, so to them it would be more than music, this shyt is real life to them.

White suburban kids can listen to rap and be all


But they can't relate to the subject matter like we can.

Theres a reason why hip hop didn't become overtly violent until white people started investing in it.
