Ok, so I'm a 6ft 200 lb 34 year old black dude. I live in the middle of Las Vegas, NV.
I work but I been doing comedy for about a decade. It's a cool part time income and I love it. It's a hustle.
I get booked on a show by a long time collaborator at a lounge really close to the strip on Sunday. Great hang.
Now, everyone knows that I hate magician's and ventriloquists because that shyt is just corny to me. This wasn't my first rant on them. I cussed out Amazing Jonathan several times but that's another story.
I'm like halfway thru a box of wine and I walk into the venue. Everyone excited. Im lunching cuz I'm tipsy at the back of the room and I hear the wind up for overnight celebrity. I look up and it's a 20 something white dude with a puppet going hard. Adlibs and everything. Hype AF. And the crowd was about half black folk so it was fun. That's not the racist part.
We all singing along and he wraps that up. Then he pulls out two enormous red lips and asks for a volunteer. Motherfukker starts ventriloquizing song quasi song of the south shyt and I went off. He dismounts and it's whatever.
Bout 20 minutes later I'm on stage. My set was like 15-20 minutes and halfway thru, I just snap. Like ayo... fukk that puppet ass nikka. I ain't like that shyt.
Everyone either howling or kinda shook but I do my thing. I get off stage and a couple friends are like "yo, that was funny but why you gotta go in on the autistic dude like that???"
And I'm like
AUTISTIC???
I'm outside smoking and tryna figure out my next move and I notice the dude and his mom and the puppet. All three was staring at me like they wanted to do something. Now I'm drunk, crossfaded, and about to fight a whole ventriloquist posse basically. Ngl, I was fukking scared. His mom writes the act so she was finna step up.
Luckily, another friend intercepted and was like, yo lemme give you a ride home.
But Im sitting there like I wanted all the puppet smoke like fukk all that. Tell America's Snot Talent to pull up. Lmao. But like I said, I was faded so I just too the ride.
But it turns out dude be around town so the club I gotta go to tonight, I'ma see the nikka and his mom. I really might turn up. Like, how is this a whole episode???
