I saw a huge on in Maui at the black sand beach on the road to Hana.
I was shook AF, thought it was a shark at first, didn’t have my goggles on underwater so everything looked blurry.
I ran out of the water so fast and climbed up on some rocks looked down and saw it was a huge ass turtle.

I’m confused as to how anybody doesn’t know what a sea turtle is. Maybe it’s because I have been to so many aquariums and zoos; idk

I went to a Sea turtle farm in the Cayman Islands when I was a kid and some of them were waaaay bigger than I was

They don’t have any real defenses other than their shells, but their only natural predators are sharks and crocs. And saltwater crocs are rare and only in certain places so just sharks really.
They’re endangered because of people though...overfishing, pollution, and climate change.
