This is a thread dedicated to why the Xbox ScorpiHoe is a joke and destined to be flop Filth. Why it deserves hate and why microsoft is a shyt company. If Microsoft has any brains they will parlay this into a next gen console and abandon this gen altogether. But why? Because sony won and Microsoft Lauced already




It is considering it is going to be the strongest console ever for over a year. With Scorpio releasing so late, it might only get to enjoy that "strongest console" title for a few months before the announcement of PS5 begins to steal its thunder. Those 6 teraflops won't mean much if Sony turns around a few months later at GDC or E3 and says PS5 will be launching with 8-12TFlops. Couple PS4 Pro already enjoying a year's worth of updated PS4 games, and Scorpio not having much time to get its own library established before the competition hits... It's not a position I'd want to be in. I think MS chased the "most powerful" dream a little too hard this time, and backed themselves into a corner by not taking careful consideration of timing and how the market would react, both consumers and competition. They should have known that by the end of next year, next gen will be just around the corner.

Sony knew the timeline they were releasing the Pro... which is why they didn't Delay to react. At over 40 million PS4s sold worldwide, it's pretty clear they DONT care about the Scorpio. When you are a leader you look to innovate your products in a time frame you can re-energize the market, before your competition. MS's has been Reacting to Sony all generation, that's the point of Scorpio and all the little performance increases the OG XBO has received as well as policy and feature changes before launch is all about...

They reacted to being the weakest of Next Feb hardware and inferior ports, and because the social gamers have voiced distaste to the platform now they want to silence by delivering something to stop the negative comparisons. But coming out a year later, it won't matter. 4k gaming console is here in Nov... and from now till Holiday 2017 (14 months) the conversation of a 4K gaming console being readily available with games to demonstrate that will be the norm for gamers everywhere.

They've already put the message out there, If you have a 4k display you'll get 4k gaming with HDR. If you have a 1080p display you'll get upgraded graphics and smoother frame rates and if you have vr you'll have an upgraded VR experience...

This will be the same message MS delivers in a year, the only thing is they'll be doing it with games that already have done it on a VERY capable machine for a whole year earlier... so tough luck convincing people to spend $600 for that when they can get it for less

2019 is exactly what everyone is expecting and is in line on the button to mid gen upgrade. The question is of ps5 comes out in 2019 and is a lot more powerful then Scorpio would ms lose it all by following the 4 yr plan they talked about. If xbox 2 comes out in 2021 ms may be in trouble. If they try to end yet another console even sooner they may be in trouble. That said ms had killed their consoles early every gen so it may not matter. Before you say 360 remember that in the last couple of years of its cycle they basically released no exclusive games saving them for one. Whatever though you make up your own mind. It's no surprise ms made the xbox 1 reveal about media and not games , judging by the crowd reaction to uhd it's what they care about more. Movies and tv over games.

I think from a business standpoint Sony has essentially killed scorpio by releasing the PS4 Pro. Think about it, the PS4 Pro has the benefit of being novel for 2 reasons:
1) it has a bigger power gap against existing consoles at time of its release (2-3 times more powerful than the others) AND
2) it has the novelty of introducing VR to console gamers.

When scorpio releases, it will only be (roughly) 33% more powerful than other existing consoles. (For those that arent good at math the PS4 Pro, by comparison is between 200%-300% more powerful than existing consoles)
Also by that time console gamers will already be fimiliar with VR.

So, yeah i think PS4Pro is going to really staggnate the sales of scorpio.

Nah, this is perfectly priced. Aiming too high is ridiculous considering the low current adoption rate of 4k TVs, specifically of the HDR variety. They had to make something that would be cheap and also be usable for those without 4k TVs. Microsoft is essentially making an even more 4K centric console with a higher price point. PS4 owners may not upgrade to PS4 Pro right now, but the choice to future proof isn't an outrageous one because it's affordable. The way I see it, Scorpio will be asking Xbox owners to do the same things for "better 4k results" and a "premium price". A risky move to be sure, but who knows, it might work in their favor.
