I've never heard anyone try to use drawing ability as a high point of Michaels' career. He only gets held in such high regard because of his in ring gifts.
He first got the belt at WM 12 in 96. I'm sure he did better than Yoko/Diesel, but unless you've got receipts, there's no way I will believe that he did better business than Hogan/Warrior post WM6 until the steroid scandal went down in 91/92.

hhh couldn't match bret's technical ability but he had like 10x the intensity.

showtime is always lying about Michaels' drawing ability. The company improved significantly when he wasn't in the spotlight.
