I hate this ignorance is bliss shyt. You can be involved in politics and still lead a happy life. When you realize you determine your own happiness it frees you. This is just a way for people who don't have the courage to try to continue to justify their stances on why they don't do shyt

politics is policy thus have a large say in how you effectively live and if you're not obsessed with how you live and constantly working to improve it and your happiness then you are neglecting your sense of self-preservation.

People like this definitely obsess over politics and donate to politicians who enable the kind of exploitation he's celebrating. They just don't want you "obsessing" over it.
You could apply this to literally anything 
It’s called compartmentalizing. You can have a heart and be an empathetic human being while not letting it ruin your life
I will say tho, a lot of people are jacked up mentally and can’t do it. Men become fake ass savages—-but we’re human so it’s just a fake bubble and when life does hit you, you break down 10x worse
And with women they just become ultra empaths and think they gotta save the world
