FRESNO, Calif. (KABC) --
A traffic stop in Fresno resulted in the arrest of a documented gang member on probation, who turned out to have firearms, tactical gear and drugs in his house.

Fresno police said 33-year-old Khamprasong Thammavong was pulled over around 5:40 p.m. Monday in a traffic stop. When the officer learned that Thammavong was a documented member of the Laos Bloods and on probation, he requested assistance from the Southeast Violent Crime Impact Team.

Members from the SV CIT team conducted research on Thammavong's background and found the address of his home, which police said is open to search and seizure.

Officials conducted a probation search and found a semi-automatic rifle and a semi-automatic handgun, which were not registered to Thammavong.

They also found tactical gear similar to law enforcement equipment, numerous items linking him with gang activity, 38 marijuana plants and narcotics paraphernalia.

Police said Thammavong did not have a license to possess or grow marijuana in the state of California. The case is being investigated by narcotics detectives.

Thammavong was arrested for numerous felony charges, including felon in possession of a firearm and cultivation of marijuana. He was booked into Fresno County Jail.

Lubbock man indicted, charged with assaulting pregnant girlfriend

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Jacob Pauda, 30, has been indicted by a Lubbock Grand Jury, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, accused of beating his pregnant girlfriend.

Police say they responded to the 3300 block of Itasca Street on February 8 around 2 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived, a woman told them her boyfriend, Pauda, picked her up and brought her to his home. The woman told police he started pacing back and forth and she asked him if he had been using drugs. The woman advised police that Pauda uses cocaine.

She said Pauda finally admitted to her that he had used drugs after he replied, ‘Yeah, a little bit.’

Pauda reportedly accused his girlfriend of cheating on him and questioned the paternity of her unborn child. The girlfriend denied the accusation.

According to the police report, Pauda ran toward his girlfriend with a closed right fist and punched her in the face repeatedly. The girlfriend told police Pauda told her, ‘Don’t try and scratch me or it will be worse for you.’

After Pauda stopped punching his girlfriend, the report says he went into the kitchen and grabbed a large butcher knife before chasing her around the living room. He later dropped the knife and lunged at his girlfriend, grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground. Pauda kicked his girlfriend while she was on the ground.

Police say the victim called her mother to come get her and while on the phone, Pauda slammed her against several metal objects in the living room. Pauda took his two sons, who were in other rooms, and left the home before police arrived.

The victim was treated for her injuries.

Pauda was arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on Feb. 10. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
