For example, the old me would be pissed the fukk off at Kawhi Leonard's injury ruining a potential classic conference finals.
I would be even more pissed thinking about that 20+ point lead they had before the injury. So many "what ifs"
. If you don't think this would have went 7 games you're a damn fool.
Spurs have been my team for awhile and are one of the last teams that I have an emotional connection to as I get older and all the players I grew up watching retire. When I saw Kawhi go down I was pissed for a minute but it went away pretty quick. This has been the most numb I've been to a Spurs playoff series loss I've ever been. Really didn't care
Sports in general can be draining and I'm kinda glad I'm at a point where I don't really care what happens anymore
Kinda feels good to be numb and indifferent whether than being all
over a sporting event
Ray Allen hitting that shot against the Spurs few years ago in the Finals was one of the most soul crushing moments of my life. Wasn't fun at all. Wasn't fun watching Bama lose at the last moment to Clemson either.
But on the other hand watching your fav team win it all is a satisfying feeling also. I still remember jumping up and down in excitement when Jordan hit that last shot over Byron Russell. One of the happiest moments of my life.
Anybody get what I'm saying? I don't know if I LIKE not being so emotionally invested in sports or not. Its fun but it also can be draining and disappointing when you're REALLY into it and not just a casual.
