this is just once example. If you don't have a 0 now you aren't seen as a top guy anymore. That's why all the top fighters are afraid to fight other top guys. All the all time greats took L's and it never diminished diminished greatness. There is no shame in losing to an all time great like Pac even at an advanced age.

Does it though?

Lomachenko lost one of his first fights and still got the push. Obviously Canelo lost and is still at the top of the food chain. Manny lost a handful of times and is still a top draw. Wilder and Joshua lost and will still get a bag.

It shouldn't, even more losses than that. Many of the greatest fighters lost multiple times.

In most cases it derails their career because in boxing the promoter is matching you with people you should beat. If everyone was fighting top competition it wouldn't matter but in boxing, you're matched with people you should beat therefore that loss just lets people know you're not who they thought you were.

Keith Thurman hasn't fought in two years, Erroll was in a car accident after he fought Manny and has already had come back fought and about to fight again

and before this two year off, he hadn't fought in two years because of the injury, his career been derailed

one win can put him back on track, he should've fought Ugas but he didn't want to

He talking about fighting jermell, lmao, good luck with that

Mayweather promotion want Tank to fight Thurman next lmao, this nikka is washed he almost to Josesito Lopez before fighting Manny, that's why I don't put too much stock in Manny's win Keith never came back to form I think the elbow injury against Danny effected the power in his right hand, and he was never a durable guy to begin with he always getting hurt in his fights

this
losses hit different when you been getting "built up" for 12 yrs
That's why the Loma and Canelo L's ain't stop nothing, both of those guys hit the ground running and maintained a level of comp thru their careers

Danny jacobs is an interesting one because it feels like his wins against Rosado and Chavez jr hurt his reputation more than his losses to Alvarez and Golovkin. People saw him taking it to the best in his division and respected that way more than they did him getting a narrow win against a guy like Rosado who we all expected him to breeze through

thats the problem...getting narrow wins against rosado in 2020 lol...he was supposed to put rosado away like he did quillin all those years ago or decisively beat him...worse is that most ppl didnt even think he beat rosado which is a problem for a noted guy like that around 160 and 168

This is a very poor example. Thurman rarely fights. He’s actually in a very good position despite that

Yet someone like Porter, who has more losses, is in a great position because he’s more active and puts on entertaining fights.

These guys get recycled so many times that this whole thing tends to be overblown. The OP must not watch boxing.

Do you know how many chances guy like Guerrero, Berto, Alexander, etc have had? In the WW division, once you make a name, you will get opportunities
