Comedians face the same thing.

Entertainers walk a very fine line inbetween satire, comedy, and sheer exposure and freedom to express themselves.

I understand how "branding" is important and how important it is to establish yourself in a certain lane...but its pretty crazy that they felt so neutered to make such a statement.

I mean, i think it was equally stupid of him to make the "fakkit" comment, but thats HIS CHOICE.

Its the same way Drake apologized to Vanessa Bryant for the "shooting in the gym" comment. Nah. fukk that. You had Kobe living in hotels and served him papers AT the Staples Center. At one moment, it was over for Kobe.

You won't see me making "real hip hop" statements, but freedom of speech, no matter how stupid is one thing that SHOULD be preserved.

I would agree if I felt like it was political...but I don't think it was. This wasn't some huge corporation leaning on him and threatening him with taking endorsements, this was just him realizing that what he said was not only offensive but really didn't enhance his verse at all.

It's one thing where a killer joke...or a killer line can be thrown out there even with some kind of expected backlash, sometimes it's funny or dope enough that it will actually do more good than harm if kept, this wasn't the case. I think he was honest in his apology.

Of course it's just speculation but think about if people had really expressed some kind of hurt behind pac going in on prodigy's sickle sell do you think he would have at them for it?

if he wants autistic fans, or friends or family of anyone with autism, it would be in his best interest to let it be known he understands the line has touched the heart of those people. it's more than freedom of speech. music is a business now, sure he can act like he doesn't give a fukk, but in hindsight it'll only make him lose more money than he could have made. perfect example being ross taking too long to mention anything about the molly line & reebok dropping him
